Art in itself is not a steady practice but a matter of a moment's revelation, created in a fever that comes out of nowhere. Art comes from the Latin 'ars' by way of translation from the Greek 'trchne', which means simply "SKILL".

"Being an artist is also knowing that the art is bigger than you.The art of dancing does this amazing thing -- similiar to acting -- writing -- creating -- branding; where it makes you let go of the shame of looking stupid." "Art can take minutes or years, be simple or complex, involving tools, machines, different materials, technology, creativity, insight.

Art of any kind can be really arresting, happenstance, serendipity and ingredient to the work. The best ideas usually come when not staring at the work for hours looking for solutions. Art can have a mystery to it. Like if you were to look at it you wouldn't quite understand how it was made. 

Commercial Art is spending time working on creating and problem-solving. Everything goes away and comes together. It's meditative Ideas & Art is my life, an important part is reading books, I have over 2,000+ books. From books, experiences, experimenting, trail and errors, successes, failures; understandng;  we are bursting with excitement and ideas that are the foundation of our CREATIVITY!

That's what being an artist is. Art is a creative pursit: parameters and limitations force you to think about how to solve a problem. I like to say that Art is like archaeology,  that it's built layer upon layer upon layer. Art at a certain point you let go of the idea of what an artist should be. We are never limited to one technique.

Over the years, We have made work by etching, woodblock,  lithography, letterpress, silk screening, engraving, letterpress, flexo, binding, drawing, computers, photography, special effects, creating and building custom machine tools and machines.  Printmaking is labor intensive, technical, machine/tools and materials processes, but it's also collaborative.

Art is a way of being. As an Artist,  we are very much aware that almost any idea can be sourced from somewhere.

Art can give your mind and body the same experience at the same time,  which feels like a reset, if just for a few minutes.

You shape the art and the art shapes you. The images / media / techniques are the message.
